Forward Deployed Engineer
About Luzid
Luzid is the intelligent layer between how enterprises operate and the software that runs them. We give system integrators and enterprise architects AI agents that automate the most complex, expensive, and error-prone work in enterprise software delivery: capturing requirements, flagging risks, generating documentation, configuring systems, and running tests; end to end, from pre-sales through go-live.
We are a team of AI experts and ERP veterans from Stanford, SAP, Two Sigma, Microsoft, Meta, and Uber. In 11 months of operations, we've built a multi-million dollar pipeline and are already partnered with some of the world's largest global consulting firms.
About the Opportunity
Every enterprise runs on business processes: how they fulfill orders, procure materials, close books, manage supply chains. These processes get mapped during ERP implementations, then immediately start drifting. People leave. Documentation goes stale. The reasoning behind critical decisions disappears into tribal memory.
The result: a recurring, multi-million-dollar rediscovery effort every time a business needs to change, whether responding to new regulations, absorbing an acquisition, extending its systems, or optimizing workflows.
Over 75% of enterprise software implementations run over budget or over time. The global ERP services market is worth $250 billion annually. Agentic AI is about to restructure how all of that work gets done, and no tool is built for that transition yet.
The Role
The Forward Deployed Engineer is one of the most important roles at Luzid. You sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success, embedded directly in the workflows of some of the world's largest and most prestigious implementation teams.
This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role. You'll work directly with SI partners and enterprise customers to configure, deploy, and drive adoption of Luzid across live implementation projects. When something breaks, you fix it. When a workflow doesn't fit, you adapt it. When a deployment succeeds, you turn it into a repeatable playbook that scales the entire function.
You'll be shaping what "great deployment" looks like at Luzid, which means your work will directly influence the product roadmap, the customer success motion, and ultimately the company's ability to expand within its largest accounts.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical onboarding for new customers: environment setup, prompt customization, and integration with existing toolchains
- Conduct discovery to understand each customer's implementation methodology and map Luzid's capabilities to their specific workflows
- Drive adoption across consulting teams through embedded, hands-on enablement rather than passive training
- Monitor deployment health and proactively surface risks before they escalate
- Translate customer feedback and failure patterns into clear, actionable product input
- Build repeatable deployment playbooks, templates, and configuration guides that scale the function beyond yourself
- Own renewal and expansion outcomes in close collaboration with the AE team
You May Be a Good Fit If
- You've built something from scratch, whether a company, a product, or a function
- You're the person who, when something doesn't exist, creates it
- You're not intimidated by enterprise complexity because you've navigated messier situations with fewer resources
- You win on hustle, judgment, and an obsessive focus on making customers successful
- You're a strong written communicator who creates documentation that people actually read and use
Strong Candidates May Also Have
- 4+ years in a technical customer-facing role: solutions engineering, field engineering, implementation consulting, or technical account management
- The ability to debug a broken integration and explain the root cause to a non-technical project lead in the same afternoon
- Hands-on experience with SAP or adjacent enterprise platforms and a real understanding of how implementations run: the methodology, the stakeholders, the failure modes
- Familiarity with SAP Activate or an equivalent structured delivery framework
- Prior exposure to LLM-based tools or AI-assisted workflows in enterprise contexts
- Experience building playbooks or enablement assets that let a team scale delivery beyond your own capacity
